throwback thursday - siblings

I thought it would be fun to do another throwback, guys. One afternoon I was caught by my computer viewing un-sorted pictures (it's a never-ending thing, don't ask) and I happened to notice in each of my kids folders, that they had pictures of the same pose. So it just seemed fun to make a quick collage. You know, for comparison's sake?
The first one is when they all learned to sit up around 4 months or so. And the bottom one is around 6-7ish months...
No, but seriously. Both boys were born in the summer, so their picture is taken during the winter months with pants. Elena was born in the winter and is seen with Bum Genius cloth diapers because "innnn suuuummmmerrrrr!!!" you don't wear pants - duh - (right now is a different story however, as I'm bundled up in the mid 30's outside - brrr!) I was amazed at how much Elena resembles her older brother.
||quick pause for some sniffles||
Ahhhh, my babies. They'll never be that young again. They'll never be that innocent again.
And I'm ok with that.
I like where this motherhood thing is going. Seeing them grow up and get into the next stages of their lives. I cherish experiencing life and growing up with them, but also appreciate how precious those times where when they were each small babes. I'll never have those times again.
Sniff sniff!
Don't you love how modern technology makes it so accessible to look back in time? Do you love throwbacks?

throwback thursday: in 7 years

earlier this week was my 7th year anniversary. it just so happened that a week prior to this special day, i was going through the same town the hubs and i got married in. the venue was Brennan Vineyards here in good ol' central Texas.
i was feeling a big nostalgic so i snapped a few pics just for comparison. then and now.
turns out, it still looks the same :)
but our lives don't. we've grown up 7 more years. together. better & worse. healthy & sick. always, in love.
and we have three gorgeous kids to show for it.
three kids. wowza. never in my dreams did i think i would be a mom to three. well, maybe in my dreams, but reality? heck no.
i kept recalling that day. how everything seemed a blur. how we missed out on spending time with people we love because we were rushed off to cut the cake or whatever. how we shoulda just drank one more glass of that delicious rosé. how we were so exhausted by 11pm that night when we got into our honeymoon suite.
but i remember showing up in a red hot rod well. looking so skinny and feeling so important. walking down a luscious green path with my gorgeous bouquet of calla's to meet my wild-haired stud.
i remember crying while reading my vows to my groom and getting confetti streamers in my hair. taking pictures and trying not to feel so overwhelmed (you know how it is when you have family from all sides at one place, amiright?)
7 years later, it's just an empty piece of land under some gigantic oaks...
that perfect night in october though, oh what a sight.
and  finally, we were married. all eyes on us as mr. & mrs.
that place was beautiful. it still is. i love that i got a chance to show the kids where daddy and mommy were married. to retell and relive. i love that they stand where we stood 7 years ago to show how beautiful life is.
and seriously, who would have guessed we would make such pretty babies? (of course i'm biased, but what did you expect?)
hubby and i first met while working at pizza hut 12 years ago--he was the fastest delivery driver, i was the sexy waitstaff. he asked me on a date to eat at a nearby pizza hut that is just like the one we met at.
crappy.
BUT, oh man, the good ol' times and good pizza!!! this time around, i'll spare you all the details. IF you feel a bit courageous, you can check out the previous sickening love posts here and here where i 'profess our love'.
so tell me, how do you celebrate your anniversary? doing blasts from the past or do you go all out with gifts and surprises?
have a great week everyone!

Throwback Thursday - Look Alikes

tiny post, guys! just wanted to show off some throwback photos right quick. i actually found this one while trying to organize my photos (they're a mess), and I caught a slight similarity between my little one and myself way back when...(not to mention the similarity between me and dad).
can you see it?
the head!
oh my gosh it's freaky right? and i'd say the chin too. remember I posted a while back about this little girl being the spittin' image of her daddy? well, she definitely has my block head and add her daddy's features and voila! you've got Elena. i love that. a perfectly combined little girl.
one night, i dressed her in a yellow sleeper, for no apparent reason other than it was below 80's and she hardly wore sleepers...
and once i laid her down in her bassinet, i thought, 'holy cow. i've seen this somewhere!'
oh. yeah. here it is.
aren't throwbacks fun???
I still think she is still her father's mini me, but it's fun to want to find out which features your kids have inherited. and then immediately feel sorry after because you only want the best for them and then they inherit your crooked smile. thank you, universe.
this weekend we have great plans and I cannot wait to get them started!
have a great Thursday!

throwback thursday

from December 2011
fotos de diciembre 2011
I can't believe it's December--again.
Like I keep sayin'.... days are long, but years are short!
No puedo creer que ya es diciembre--otra vez.
Como siempre digo, los dias seran largos, pero los años vuelan!
