Our Christmas Card to You ๐Ÿ“ญ

Merry Christmas!!! May you and your loved ones have a blessed Christmas and New Year. We had fun taking these pictures at the Witty pasture surrounded by cow patties and dried sticks but most importantly, each other. The boys got to see an actual fox hole on our way back and we had a little diva amongst ourselves...his name is Andrew.
Enjoy!

Luke 2:11 "For into you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord."

It ACTUALLY Snowed?!?! ❄️

As soon as we woke up early on a Friday, we couldn't believe our eyes. Our smiles were from ear to ear and everyone hustled to put on their warmest gear to head out the door as fast as they could (I'm more or less talking about myself here)! I am a sucker for cold weather living in the hottest, most humid city in Texas.
The cat didn't know what the white stuff was and the boys and dad promptly started snowballin' one another. They didn't care I had a camera, I was an easy target.
We purposely neglected the watch that always tells us what time to go to school and headed for the park asap!
A half hour later, I dressed Elena in proper attire and made sure to bring out my tripod to get myself in the picture too.
She had a blast (and so did Lucy!) She ran, collected snowballs, threw them at me, and then would run away. This was her first snow ever!
She got me!
Her hands were wet and her shoes were heavy with ice and then she quickly realized she was cold.
A snowball to the neck (thanks to Mom) quickly turned to, "okaay, I'm over this let's go inside..."
We also found Lucy inside the culvert avoiding the snowballs, but soon followed when she saw us heading towards the door.
My backyard was a magical wonderland and later on, turned into a slushy backyard with the constant drip drip sound of water falling from the trees above.
A couple of days earlier, I made Gary help me in covering my garden (left) with a plastic sheet. And it worked! My pitiful garden survived the frost!
Last year, because of unpreparedness, everything I had outside died. So I was proud of ourselves this year. Unfortunately, I forgot about my Bouganvillias (which I'm debating on pulling up anyway). It's a shame the snow got them right after they bloomed, this after 2 years of waiting for them...AH! Such is a gardener's life.
Northerners are laughing at us right now, but last time it snowed in Houston was around 2009 so this is a BIG.DEAL! It melted as soon as noon came around but it was just enough for us to have a really fun way to start the day! I wish everyone who complains about snow would be quiet and go outside and play in it instead. It is such a treat! I'm glad we got some this year because last year we had a sorry winter.
Have a blessed weekend!
