snow one day, sun shine the next...

I've been living in Texas for over 17 years and I am still so amazed at how weather in Texas can change from day to day!
Yesterday, we had freezing, four & a half inches of snow and today was sunny with chilly winds...
Here are pictures of Andrew playing outside.
We've been inside for the past week because it's been too cold to go outside. This was heaven for this little adventurous boy...

Little cup to catch water coming off the roof...

He lost his balance and touched the wet ground with his fingers.
He said "eeeewwww!!!"

Scooping up snow [and eating it]...

Pants were soaking!

"Eeewwww" Part II

Eating Sabritones on the back porch steps

Scooping snow from the playset into his Tonka truck

Some more snow scooping

All the snow that hadn't melted from the side of the house.

This was funny, but I wish I had caught it better with my camera :(
He grabbed a little frozen ice ball, stuck it in his mouth, and spit it back out.
You can see it somewhat at the bottom, middle caught in his jacket.
I guess it was too cold...

Taking a break with a sippy cup full of apple juice

"Ooohhh" pointing at a frozen, upside-down fly. Gross.

Checking out the back yard. Yesterday, this was all covered in white fluff.

Baby #2 - Post II

Last night we had the pleasure of finding out the sex of our baby......GIRL!
Woot! Hopefully we can get a lot of hand-me downs from previous baby girl owners...
She'll be the first baby girl on both sides of our families so we're excited!

We went to StorkVision here in Abilene last night. Let me tell ya, they are fun and very professional! We had asked for only the 2D package but the lady doing the sonogram let us take a peek at what it would look like in 3D.
The whole time, baby kept moving like a Mexican jumping bean. And at one point she had the hiccups. We saw her opening and closing her mouth and just moving her tongue all over the place...whoever knows Gary, knows she's definitely related to him! Ha!

Big thanks to my lil' sis Dawna for taking pictures of this exciting evening!

Checking in. I honestly didn't know I was pooching out that much.

Daddy & Andrew

Great Grandmother, Carolyn, aka Wita & messy haired Andrew

Thank goodness they had plenty of seating and blocks for this little hyperactive boy to play with!!!
Wita & my midwife, Betsy watching baby on huge TV.
Moomie was also there, but guess we didn't get a picture with her....=(

Nothing can keep this little dude from getting in on the action.
without further adieu, here's Baby T @ 20 weeks old.

Hand by her face

She kept opening and closing her mouth. Here she is with mouth open.
Moomie said she looked like a 'chango' (monkey). hehe!

She was facing my spine.

The dark triangle area is her bladder. You're looking directly forward at her pelvis.

Video of sonogram from StorkVision.
It was originally 20 mins, but I've clipped out only about one and a half minutes.

This morning, it was snowing for several straight hours and we managed to get about 4 inches of snow. At lunch time, we headed out to play in it. Andrew grabbed a stick, sat on the wet porch and played in the snow.
Oh, and also managed to lock ourselves out of the house, too. That was quite an adventurous morning.
As you can hopefully not tell, I've messed with some of my pictures. I absolutely love Lightroom, but hate my camera. I've browsed through some professional photographers websites/blogs and it seems that saturation and some tint help with making my pictures a little better...still not convinced about the darker outer edges.
But here's my take on faux-finished professional photos :)
Note to family: To get them high-res and saved to your computer, you can go to the actual website (link all the way at the bottom) and click on the pictures. Save them by right-clicking, save image as, etc...
Andrew, after so many snow days we've had this year, is still reluctant to just get out and have fun in the snow...I guess he's still too little and have to wait for the pre-school/elementary stage.
Andrew sitting on the porch, getting his pants all wet.
Poor cold buns! *Brrrr*
With a stick in hand...
Here he was getting whiny about being out in the cold and not being able to step in the snow.
p.s. I love this photo!
His itty-bitty footsteps in front of our house...

...wondering what to do next.
"ah! more snow!"

Playin' Around phone pictures

These are pictures I've taken recently of Andrew playing and being out and about!
I usually remember to take my camera but for some reason I've forgotten about it lately...
Thank goodness for camera phones!

At the Abilene Mall playground -- he has a blast everytime!!!

He loves this heart!

You can tell how big he's growing and how easy it is now to release his sense of adventure

This was at a Jump Around in Abilene that we got invited to from and at first he really wasn't sure what was going on with a bunch of kids and adults and these play things on the floor...

This was the slide that he loved for over an hour. He kept coming back even though I would try to get him to get into the bouncy houses..."Nu-huh mom" and he'd run back to where this slide was...

Slidin' down on his belly...

...and then back up again

I love this picture and it makes me wish I would have had my real camera

Lol @ his facial expression!

This is how he would "inspect" and "assess" the situation...

Then he'd throw his body and bounce back and fall on the ground...

Little picnic table set they had...
