Memphis! A Witty Spring Break Pt. III

Yes, welcome to Pt III of our Memphis Witty Vacation! We tried to jam pack as many things of Memphis as we could, but I promise this is the last Memphis Post 😇 ..but I really should make another. Hold on to your butts and get ready for a picture-packed post.
Be sure to catch up on Post I & Post II
We decided to go eat some grub at Huey's in Downtown and afterwards, we would stop at The Peabody Hotel to see the ducks.
Huey's was pretty fun. We tried their beers and their fries were so good! Definitely recommend, especially since the boys were smitten about shooting their toothpicks into the ceiling and getting them stuck and Elena tagged the bathroom with a Sharpie.

We left Huey's with our belly's full and stepped on to the street and spotted some scooters. We kept seeing some just left, in the middle of the street and I guess we were in a pretty good mood we downloaded the app and rented some for 10 or so minutes. We all had a blast, it was totally worth it!
We soon realized that the Elvis statue was just a couple of blocks away so we had to see it. We realized we were 1 block away from this from the day when we were exploring Beale Street!
It was nearing 5pm and we headed to The Peabody Hotel! Carl and Karina had no idea what the deal was with the ducks, neither did the kids. In fact, Gary is the only one that knows about the ducks and the Peabody. I had only ever heard him talk about it....
Man oh man, the lobby was so crowded with people wanting to see the ducks. We couldn't see anything, but a kind belhop gave the kids front row seats to the duck's red carpet. In the photo below, can you spot that fountain in the middle with the flower arrangement? The ducks are swimming around there and you can see them splashing water while they go around and around.
The Belhop went on a 15 minute presentation or story, I'm not sure because it was very difficult to understand him. The speaker system was horrible. And the actual walking of the ducks was about 1 minute long. Not sure it is worth to spend several hours saving your seat just to see ducks walk about 50 feet but regardless, it's something to do in Memphis. The Peabody was pretty cool, lots of little bits and pieces of museum-like displays and pictures.
We went home after that and the next day, it was time to head out! We said our sweet goodbyes to Carl and Karina as I'm sure they were thankful to have their one bedroom apartment back again 😀
When we headed out, Gary and I looked at each other and decided that we couldn't leave Memphis without going to check out Graceland. That's right...
We grabbed a bunch of souvenirs and then made our way out of Tennessee and into Arkansas and listened to Elvis Presley all the way to Hot Springs.
