Rockport 🌊 and some mud bugs

Spring in Texas is my favorite y'all! This post is from last year (duh) but it sure brings such sweet memories. Brother and Sis-in-law invited us over to their house one weekend to eat mud bugs! They offered us some sweet southern hospitality and we came running (we actually drove in our van, but you get the point). So off we headed to see family we rarely see nowadays and the kids were so excited to see their cousins!

We arrived late that day. The next morning, we ate breakfast and went straight to the beach! It was so windy and looked overcast, but the kids didn't care!
It was time to get started on supper though...mud bugs and shrimp! My kids and I don't particularly care for crawfish, but we'll eat all the shrimp. The Bates' are very passionate over that Cajun cuisine, let me tell ya. The kids had fun playing with the crawdaddies...even Andrew being quite inappropriate (like that's unusual, right? HA!) Elena wasn't sure of them at first, but finally warmed up to a little one. Andrew kept a few of the pincers as souvenirs, of course.

By the end of the night, we were grubbed out and ready for a good night's sleep! Wish we could come over again but with this coronavirus going around, not sure that'd be allowed!
