Mom's day & birthday

To celebrate Mother's Day, in-laws came to see us (more so the boys) and took us out to lunch to Sze Chuan Restaurant in Abilene. 

A very good Chinese restaurant too...

We ordered the Pu Pu Platter, which was an appetizer

Pedimos un aperitivo llamado Pu Pu - jaja! 

...and this is what came out! Very cool!

Andrew had to roast the "rat" on a stick

Andres tuvo que rostizar su "palo de rata" (neta parecia, eh)

Shrimp over 'sizzling' rice, whatever that means.

Camaron sobre arroz chisporroteado, la verdad no se lo que es.

Jonah went nuts over the eggrolls, wontons, and broccoli

And then he was real thirsty

Y luego le dio mucha sed

After the lunch, Gary and I went to watch 'Water for Elephants'

Despues de comer, Gary y yo fuimos a ver una pelicula mientras los suegros cuidaban de los niños. 

Fuimos a ver "Agua Para Elefantes" que de por si, estaba muy buena y se las recomiendo.

We both REALLY ended up liking the movie--it was super good!

We came back and had a Tres Leches cake!

Technically it was supposed to be for my birthday, the next day, but since we were all together, more of the cake would be eaten not just by me... ha!

Porfin regresamos a casa y a celebrar con un pastel de Tres Leches. 

Tecnicamente era para mi cumpleaños, el dia siguiente, pero celebramos de todas maneras ya que todos estabamos ahi y para que aprevecharan del pastel jiji!

So as soon as I mentioned the word 'cake' , Andrew ran to the fridge and wanted to get started on it.

Little did I know that he didn't really want a piece of cake, he wanted to put the candles on, light them, and blow them out. 

Andres le encanto la idea de el pastel y corrio al refri a sacarlo. Pero no sabia que no le interesaba comer el pastel, si no que lo unico que queria era soplar las velas.

Next, are some tips on how to entertain Andrew for hours...

Tips para entretener a Andres por horas...

First, put on about 50 candles on the cake.

Second, light them up.

Primero, ponle al pastel como 50 velas.

Segundo, inciendelas.

Third, inhale a BIG breath

Tercero, agarrate un respiro produndo

Fourth, BLOWWW as hard as you can 

Cuarto, sopla lo tan fuerte que puedas!!!

Keep blowing!!! {...and spit just a little on the cake}

Siguele soplando!!! {....y a la misma vez, espupele un poquito al pastel-jaja!}

And sixth, put some cake on your face!!!

Y sexto, ponte pastel en la cara!!!

Jonah and I were attacked as well...

Fuimos atacados, Jonas y yo.

Every morning since then, he's been wanting cake for breakfast. 

He doesn't particularly like to eat the cake, he just likes the fuss of the candles.

And like a good half, quarter, whatever Mexican part he's got in him, he head dove and got icing on his forehead. 

Way to go, mi'jo.

Desde ese dia, cada mañana quiere sacar el pastel y prenderle velas para el almuerzo. No le cae muy bien comer el pastel, pero le fascinan soplar las velas.

Y como un buen Mexicanito, se impino el solo al pastel.

Muy bien, mi'jo.
