Robot Wall Art

Just a quick tutorial on some simple wall art.

I saw some robot art and I wanted to do something similar for A's room.

I have a lot of craft stuff and I rummage through it to see what I've got that can work and here's the end result:

Cute, huh?

Well it's cheap to make, and not to mention easy.

You'll have modern art on your wall...like these and these!!!

Ok so, to get started gather your supplies.

Hobby Lobby has lots of cute little wooden painted figures with lots of themes.
I purchased the robot and the spaceship for 67 cents each {{score!}}

I already had the two blocks of MDO and all I had to do was prime them. But I'm sure you can find square wooden plaques at the craft store as well.

I also already had the spray paint. I decided that grey would go well, so I did 2 coats.

Let them dry really, really good!!

Pick them up, turn 'em over and measure halfway.
Attach the hangers appropriately so you can hang on the wall (also bought from the craft store).
These are super simple, just peel the paper off the sticky part and stick on, they're awesomely sturdy as well.

Alright, now all you have to do is stick the robot/spaceship onto your block with foamy double-sided tape, or you could use any craft glue.
However, I wanted them to have some dimension and it looks great that they're off the block.

{Press well onto the wooden block so they don't fall off}

Last, hang them up on your wall!

Here they are again:

I think these knock-offs are way cuter than the real, more expensive thing...

...but I'm biased :)

I made this tut for Made's Celebrate the Boy.
She's a total genius with a sewing machine.
She designates a month out of the year for boy things ONLY.
And I love it. Usually everything is girl, girl, girl....prissy, pink, and fluffy...
But not this month.
Time to bust out my sewing machine, and dust it off...

Jonah has been very, very fussy this week.
Jonas a estado muy fastidiado esta semana.
I'm not sure what's going on with him, he seems fine. I keep saying that it's a tooth (doesn't everyone?)

but I don't feel one...

My Mami Tola from Durango, said that they'll get diarrhea when they're teething and he's been pooping a lot--a LOT.

Nevertheless, all I want him to do is take a dang nap.
Todo lo que quiero esque se duerma...

And all he wants to do is take a dang nap.

So here he is, all sleepyfied.
Asi es que aqui esta mi dormiloncito.

He's so cute. Esta tan chulo.
I love the way he grabs his blanket and brings it up to his face.

And this is how he ignores me and continues drinking his milk while simultaneously trying to suck on his thumb AND hold on to his blanket...

This is what makes the fussiness worthwhile...

My son looks like WHO!?

Someone decided that my son, Jonah looks like someone...

Jonah loves to wear stripes...

Can you see the resemblance?

He's Pugsly from The Addams Family movie!

Thanks to Uncle Carl for pointing that out, I'm sure he's cracking up RIGHT NOW.

boys!

We got an early summer present.
After the snow storms passed, this blue pool became property of the Witty's.
Now, don't ask me where the heck this came from!
One afternoon, I peeked in our backyard and saw this blue thing laying on our grass.
And nobody's been looking for it or claiming it.
I put a cinder block to keep the wind from blowing it away, and it kinda makes you wonder why the owner of this thing didn't do that same...

Andrew loves this thing. He collects rocks and sticks and plays with them in there.

And since the weather has been really nice and sunny lately, we go out to the backyard to enjoy it before the dreaded bloody mosquitos get here...ugh!!!

Jonah has been a trooper. We take him outside in his walker or sit him down in the playset or in the pool and he loves watching the outdoors and watching Andrew.
There was something that was drawing Jonah's attention...
Algo le llamaba la atencion a Jonas...
The cinder block was one...
En parte, era el bloque
...but brother's shoes were even more interesting!
He loves to line up any of the same objects
And this little guy just likes to look cute
Hermanos!
We tried something new one afternoon.
Even though Andrew seems like he's not enjoying it, this was his original idea.
One afternoon, he kept yelling "ma! ma!" So I went in search for him but I couldn't see him. I peeked below, and Andrew was inside the entertainment center. Smart guy. He'll be a great hide-and-seek player one day.
Love their faces in this pic! I'm glad I'm there to capture these moments

Daddy loves being outside with them,
and indoors as well!
al igual que adentro!
