Merry Christmas everybody!!!

For a Child is born to us
and a Son is given to us.
To Him all power shall be given.
His Name shall be: Wonderful One,
Strong God, Eternal One, Prince of Peace.

Pues nos ha nacido un niño,
   un hijo se nos ha dado;
el gobierno descansará sobre sus hombros,
   y será llamado:
Consejero, Maravilloso, Dios Poderoso,
   Padre Eterno, Príncipe de Paz.

Wishing you a wonderful holiday,
Deseandoles una Feliz Navidad,
The Witty's

Reindeer cookies!!!

Happy Holidays everyone!!! I am still not tired of listening to Christmas music--are you?!
For one to get more festive, one has to make Christmas cookies, right?
So Andrew and I made our own reindeer cookies last night and they were so yummy!
He 'helped' me eat cookie dough. He also helped roll the dough into balls and placing them on the cookie sheets. He's really not a bad helper at all, just a little ADD oriented. He's actually a super good helper...he obeys extremely well in anything that he gets asked to do. But when he doesn't want to do as he is told, for example, put on socks {for some reason the kid dislikes socks-a lot} just mentioning the 'Santa-will-not-be-bringing-you-toys-because-you've-been-a-bad-boy' bribe works really REALLY good in reminding him to be a good boy. I don't know how it'll work out after the holidays.
 Anyway, back to cookies!!
Andrew didn't care for the chocolate pretzels and Jonah didn't care for the pretzel--just the chocolate ;)
Got the idea from Pinterest, and the recipe can be found here
I kinda dig the eye-less thing...
The cookies were gone today though. The boys asked for cookies for breakfast and lunch. I also donated the rest to the coaches at Gary's school.
These were cookies Andrew decided to decorate after we ran out of "antlers"...
....what is it with the inappropriate posts this week?! *snickers*

The Boys will Play / Los Niños Jugaran...

This is what brotherhood is all about, right? Battles & Fights!
De esto se trata ser hermanos, no? Batallas y peleas!
You can't see me! "A que no me ves!!"
Smiles! Sonrisotas!
I like to check to see if they're still sleeping in the mornings...
En las mañanas, siempre checo que aun esten dormiditos...

But sometimes, they just pretend! Pero a veces, no mas se hacen!
Some of his doodles! Unos de sus primeros garabatos!
Sun is bright, but they don't care as long as they're outside.
El sol pega fuerte, pero no les importa porque estan afuera.

The cold doesn't get in their way, either.
El frio tampoco les molesta
 Barely touching with his tip-toes!
El triciclo que apenitas le alcanzan los pies!
 Chocolate-donut-with-sprinkes-face is the best!
Cara de dona con chocolate y chispitas es la mejor!
Time to play hide and seek, "Where are you Jonah?!"
A jugar las escondidas. "Donde estas Jonah?!"
Together in the dirt for the first time!
Los niños jugando en la tierra juntos, por primera vez!
Durango gets scorpions and in Abilene, we get roaches...
En Durango salen alacranes, y en Abilene salen cucarachas...

A catastrophe!!!

The death of my shelf happened this morning:

It used to look like this:
It looks unorganized in the picture, but trust me, everything had its place.

And on a whim, it decided it didn't want to stick to the cheap duplex walls anymore:
So without anything touching it, it just FELL.
{My art desk shares the space with Andrew's room}
My rubber gnomes had to be rescued under debris.
Luckily, my Italian Pinnocchio (a gift from my sister who visited Europe), my high school sculpture (my art teacher highly disapproved of), and the gnomes (my husband was against me obtaining) all managed to survive unscathed.
Their survival was meant to be.

Weekends are for...

Weekends are for Birthdays...
And for sisters...
...and guests...
...and more family...
...and for doggies...

...and tias & Santa hats...
For silly, sleepy babies....
And smart & handsome three-year olds...
For helping the parents with their Christmas tree{s}...
...and for window condensation, Christmas decor, and fresh mistletoe from our tree...
I know Thanksgiving has passed, but I'm still thankful for everything I've photographed so I can remember these moments in my forever-escaping memory!!!

You guys! I can't believe that Christmas is almost here. You know that feeling when January rolls around and you feel Christmas will take another 100 years to come again? Well, it's fast approaching now--OH EM GEE! We had some snow before Christmas (what the hell was that about, Earth?) and cold temperatures are sticking around (thank you, Earth)--but somehow I still can't justify purchasing another coat for winter in Texas. Why? Because winter doesn't last more than a couple of months--

Happy Holidays!
