two years old + pigtails

my little girl is two today. 2!!!
she acts like a 12 year old, though. she knows how to talk on the cell phone, snapchat, wipe her butt, & brush her teeth. she knows how to cross the street (don't ask) & how to keep up with them boys...
she knows what she wants, she's a singing monster when we go grocery shopping, and loves her toenails painted.
she needs nothing. well, almost.
one thing she does lack though, is hair. this hair is the s...l...o...w...e...s...t hair to ever grow. it's finally getting some length after we buzzed it all off---over a year ago. we buzz the boys hair off all the time, why not hers? don't judge.
so, without going on and on about hair....just see what i finally could do to her hair!!! eeeek!
i'm so excited!

she's the best model i've ever taken pictures of. come on, don't deny it....she's super cute. and those pigtails? they lasted all the way until naptime. *fist bump*
have a great week, everyone!

How to Cut Boys Hair....the sneaky way

You know what summer means? Haircuts! And for two lucky boys, that's just what happened one Sunday evening.
The boys 'winter' hair had gotten sooo unmanageable and although everyone said they loved their hair, it was just time. So without warning, without mentioning the word 'haircut', I told them I needed a few pictures of them together. And they {sorta} complied.
Gary whisked Jonah upstairs first and began buzzing. I heard minimal shrieking while I occupied Andrew downstairs. I completely put my trust in my husband to handle the situation and then quickly changed my mind when I saw poor Jojo's face in the mirror after what Daddy had done to him!
I think the only one happy about this was Daddy... I was still trying to believe if my husband had just done what he just did. But you know what? Hair grows.
After Jonah's butchering, I quickly called Andrew up without telling him what was about to happen...
You might be asking why we decided to do this to them the way we did....well.... because we have had our fair share of tantrums with the boys about haircuts.
They absolutely hate the hair that falls on their little body and capes are just futile.
But I grabbed the scissors (not the clippers) and began working on Andrew's hair...I had hopes of styles like the ones on my Pinterest board, but seriously my boy just has a weird set of locks on his head. just like his mama.
There was SO. MUCH. HAIR.
Luckily the shock only lasted a little while. They were good sports because they got to take a bath in the middle of the day. Not to mention, they got to do this to their daddy...
Now, they can't wait to 'shave off' Daddy's beard again. Ha!
Have a great day guys!

Haircuts & bikes

Yes, yes...you're wondering where the boys birthday pictures are...
Well, there's so many, it's such a daunting task to go through them and blow your computer screen up with pictures of the most adorable babies ever on earth.
BUT, I shall have to do it soon because the party was fun. Small, but fun.
Meanwhile, we are adjusting {me not so} well in Houston. We are finishing emptying our storage shed and hung up curtains--yeah!
This week, Andrew and I got a virus and immediately started coughing, nose was runny, headaches, ear infections, swollen glands, & slight fevers.
My poor baby boy--we had this happen to us in the Spring and  am not sure why we keep getting it. Weather adjustment is the only thing I can think of. BUT THIS SUCKS, guys.
It's taking me forever to get over it--I think I have like 6 supplements/vitamins that I'm taking, 3 cough syrups, & just plain Tylenol. Maybe I'm not overdosing enough...
Let's continue, shall we?

I do have to mention that I did not edit these pictures the least bit. Why? No time & my laptop isn't really good for that.
Gary started riding his bike again. He's never taken the kids for a ride until the other day.
The boys couldn't get enough of going around and around. They kept begging "again!"
We are trying to figure out a way for our whole family to ride---preferably the affordable way--because it really would be fun for the whole family to go out biking in the evenings.
They love getting on the car. I can't blame them since it was fun for me when I was little.

Anything can be fashioned into a sword. Lego's, for example.
Apparently, construction wears him out.

And since we have no backyard, or front yard for that matter, we rocked it Poor Mexican style...
A valde lleno de agua....that's how we do it.
This boy has some big buns. I wonder where he gets them from?

Today was haircut day. I am the stylist of course. And I'm free.
Unfortunately Jonah was taking his nap while we were buzzing & chopping away so he'll get his hair cut later.

We've also been watching a lot of Netflix and using the iPad a lot.
I've been downloading educational apps for Andrew. He LOVES that thing.
The boys often fight over it--and yeah, that includes the father.
I, of course, am obsessed with Instagram.
