You guys, are any of you GoT fans? and by GoT I mean, Game of Thrones? Yeah? Well, the husband and I are! I put together a few GoT funnies for us fans...
I love anything related to GoT, especially when it's funny.
And I decided to make one of my own. Just a little spoof on the whole "Winter is Coming" from House Stark to celebrate the coming of a new season: fall!
Some people go nuts over spiced pumpkin, I go nuts over cider + fall colors.
So here they are! 3 different sizes--enjoy fall y'all!!! {click on pictures and save}

new season: football {a craft}
Saturday, September 7, 2013
you guys, i've become a widow. and it's all because football season is here. husband being a coach, requires him long days on those practice and game fields with a whole buncha testosterone filled bodies and no time for Lynet-lovin'.
my saturdays are now filled with college football {go Aggies--whoop} and i'm ok with that {at least, until Christmas} anything past that, is just a plea to make it all stop. and i miss him. but you know what? he likes doing that stuff. so i won't act a fool and just let him do his own thing. i know he will come back to me, someday.
meanwhile, tis the season to start decorating the house with football, fall, and {squeal} halloween themes!
I wanted this garland to support husband and also be fun for the kids, but i made the mistake of doing this almost at the end of the day where little boys were just wanting to watch their tv show and be goofy.
so I ended up doing most of the craft...but still. I like the way it looks and only cringe a little bit seeing their footballs don't match mine perfectly {don't judge, it's the artist in me}.

so there you have it, now i just need to start making some lil' smokies + some chili with jalapeños + chug that cold beer....errr. wait. not fair. #pregnant
i am still a little let down by this weather, wishing it was a bit cooler, but i'm so used to it. this is Texas after all. it doesn't get cold until january, really...i tried wearing a hipster scarf the other day and was just a big no-no in this humid weather {felt like someone was chocking me and that is my least favorite thing}. how much am i willing to sacrifice comfort for style? obviously not that much.
happy weekend guys! get your football on!
he's finally in Kindergarten

So, the day arrived....*sigh* and you know what? I was so fine with it.
The excitement of our Meet the Teacher night was looong awaited. The first day of school was an even longer wait. This little dude really wanted to go to school. The week before, I made it a habit to get up earlier than our usual so he could get used to a new schedule. He would wake up so sleepily excited because he thought that day was the day. I had to break his little heart and tell him "not yet, # more days!"
The day before, he made sure to get his backpack ready. His homeschooling notebook. His new Skylanders pencil case. And his lunch bag. There was no stopping this kid. Seeing as to how I have become an expert at this, I have been talking about these things for at least a month, I've made a list of how to prepare your kid for Kindergarten....
My tips on how can you have an excellent first day of school for your Kindergarten-er:

My tips on how can you have an excellent first day of school for your Kindergarten-er:
- homeschool him first so that you drive him up the wall and want nothing to do with you anymore and choose public school instead {note that this is not a guaranteed emotional response}
- keep a countdown {like a calendar} visible to him indicating when school will start
- start getting up early a week before school starts to get used to a routine
- remind him of manners and to respect his peers + teachers
- prepare him to wipe his own butt in the bathroom {teacher won't be there for you, son} + wash his hands
- let him gather his school supplies and get prepared for the big day
- the night before, let him choose his own clothes + shoes for the big day
- also, let him choose what he would like for lunch + have him help pack it
- make a cutesy sign indicating what grade they're entering + take a picture
- and last, don't linger or hover over him when you drop him off in class...don't be that mom. it will all be ok.
That afternoon, he crashed hard on the sofa. This schedule will be something to get used to for sure.
This post expresses my opinions & experiences only. This post is meant to be partly humorous, do not take it too seriously. After all, I'm just a non-perfect mom trying to do the best she can :)
I wish you a glorious hump day!

cousins + pizza + kitties
Monday, September 2, 2013
this past week, i had the most tiresome pleasure of babysitting my nephews for a whole week. that's right. i am the babysitter. they love to play with my boys, even though they're a bit older, but most of all they love our Xbox360! It was kinda crazy having 4 boys all at once...what wore me out the most was basically trying to keep them entertained.
I had lunches planned out and one of those days was "make your own pizza" lunch. the boys loved it.
I got the recipe from HERE and it is super easy, just my style ;) now, since we live in a tiny duplex, i made just enough room for all four boys around the bar area and some counter space. we managed and we were messy! i thank heavens for Gary being there to help with the littlest one because without him, i would not have been able to take these pictures!
i gave each boy a piece of the dough {i doubled the recipe and it was far more than enough}, put pizza sauce, cheese & pepperoni {our favorite topping} in a bowl and let the boys go at it!
after each kid finished, i snapped a picture of them with their very own pizza
the picture below doesn't even need an explanation. but just in case, yeah, it is Jonah.
these guys were stellar pizza makers! {could it be that it runs in the family? after all, me and the husband did meet at a pizza place where he learned to make pizzas...}
I also made a pizza of my own......what, Momma doesn't get to eat? I don't think so....
turns out, every pizza was too big for our appetite so I just left them to be 'available' on the bar for the kids
and Bryce, man, he loves to torture my cats! as soon as Prim, the sphinx, hears them coming in, she jets to her numerous hiding places and comes out -- maybe -- once to eat. but Rue, the fat one, she loves the attention no matter who it is from. you can always find this little boy trying to play with kitties.
and when Chance would get chilly, he would wrap Jonah around him just so that he could use his Spiderman blanket...it really is cozy, you should get one.
man i was glad this babysitting 4 boys gig was only one week long...boys love their cousins, and that's alright with me. happy labor day!
