family weekend

reality: massive amounts of foods and family confession: i pigged out hardcore.
we visited my in-laws for a family reunion this past weekend and we had a blast! my only regret was that it was too short and i couldn't enjoy a cold brew with the guys...
the most exciting and romantic part of this whole trip was when hubby asked the magic question:
you wanna go shoot?
heck yeah i do!
so i grabbed the .22 and began shooting my little heart out while he was banging away at his .45
...and it was love at first shot
jonah knows where everything is. this little dude drug out everything from the shed, spent the most time outside, and got the messiest #ilovethatboy
my father-in-law is the best. he made specially stacked pancakes for andrew, even though everyone else was eating eggs. he let jonah shoot him with his giant Nerf bazooka. and he also cut me some mesquite discs for an art project i want to get started on. he might not look like a softie....but he is.
sunsets were pretty rad out there in the country. they always are.

simple moments: found with daddy

another post about simple moments!!!
i'm so glad i join these because i hate having pictures in my drive that i don't put here on the blog. this is like a scrapbook for me. i love browsing through the years and laugh about my writing and swoon over all of my three babies...
without further adieu, this week it's all about found with a parent--and these boys love their daddy. he's mostly fun, spontaneous, a big softie, and so freakin' book smart it makes me sick. i'm so lucky he's my babies' daddy.
these were taken at a restaurant nearby where the kids adore to climb up on this unsafe wall. rather than tell them to get down, daddy climbed up there with them and we had a mini-shoot.

simple moments is about finding the small things that make up our everyday, things we want to remember and be thankful for. it's the little bits of our lives that might not be remembered when we are gray and old. so we document it, on paper, with a photo, in a journal, through a blog.

snapshots

when i was a kid, i remember bits and pieces of my parents splitting up. but i remember still having to go to school. i remember staying with dad for some time, no mom. and one fond memory i have always had is when he would "pack my lunch" with only a can of V8 tomato juice, a slice of a lime and a napkin. i've always loved that drink. until i looked at the sodium content! so, this week, i treated myself to a V8 {low sodium version of course} since i'm not feeling up to eating my proper amount of vegetables & fruits in this pregnancy, mostly just pigging out potatoes and fried eggs.
oh my, i loved every. single. sip. the lime is what hits the spot, you know?
anyway, here are just snapshots of the past few weeks i just had to share.
i guess i go through times where i photograph one kid more than the other...i have gaps of photos of andrew and vice versa with jonah. next week, i will prepare myself as i photograph my kiddo entering kindergarten!
happy hump day everyone!

aaaand yet another birthday - {photos}

please don't get confused, but Andrew is the oldest. i know it says the opposite on the cake, but that's what happens when you turn it around for the photo!
the boys birthdays are less than a month apart during the summer. i have been doing joint-birthdays for them ever since Jonah was born, so it's only natural that all my relatives ask me, "hey, what are you doing for the boys birthdays?"
i usually have some sort of a plan, but this year, i was like i don't know! mainly because we all live so far apart.
so, the same weekend we planned my sister's baby shower, we did a quickie birthday for them! and the boys loved it. moomie spoils them rotten with cake, dr. pepper, gifts and the most fun of it all, a piƱata! the kiddos overdosed on dr. pepper & candy and then built their gifts with their tio Carlos & tio James.
